Now that Childress has finally been fired it’s Leslie Frazier’s shot at turning the Minnesota Vikings around. There is no question that this team is full of talent but it’s also no secret that we are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It would seem to make sense to prepare this team for the future … by starting Brett Favre?
Don’t get me wrong, Favre has offered a lot of fantastic memories and we won’t forget our phenomenal season last year that should of been. Unfortunately the key to this season is preparation for next year . I don’t think it’s unrealistic to say that none of us expect Favre to be apart of it. So outside of “The streak” what benefit does the team gain by starting Favre? Shouldn’t we be looking further into T. Jack and Joe Webb to see if either one is suitable for next year? Drafting a QB is absolutely necessary but throwing them out year one is typically not a wise decision. With that said if the Vikings get to the point where they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs they have to (in my opinion) continue to evaluate the QB talent already on the roster.
What do you guys think? Is there a benefit to having Favre finish this season? Or is it time to look at Jackson and Webb for the future?
