Potential Free Agents The Vikings Could Go After

July 26, 2011 by Nick in FREE AGENTS

With the NFL in production again the next couple days will be extremely entertaining.  With undrafted players being signed as early as this morning the true gold will be has in unrestricted free agency.  Below are just a few key players the Vikings should target.

Sidney Rice – WR

Sidney Rice should be their biggest and first priority.  Without Rice the wide outs on this team are slim.  A fair, incentive laden contract that could make Rice extremely well paid if he stays healthy.

Johnathon Joseph – CB

Joseph is a great CB that will be over looked with Asomugha, Cromartie and even Ike Taylor available as well.  CB was a weakness for the team last year and with Griffen and Cook recovering from knee injuries it would be a great idea to sign another great corner.

Eric Weddle – SS

Weddle would be a fantastic upgrade over M. Williams.  With Williams cap number being so large he will ultimately need to restructure in able to keep a spot on this roster.  Weddle would be a lot safer bet at the Safety position and would be worth the money.  An instant upgrade to the Safety position that the Vikings desperately need.

Harvey Dahl – G

We need a right guard.  This guy would instantly make our line better.  He very likely would be an expensive addition that I don’ think the Vikings could fit under our cap.  It’s a ‘dream pick’ though.

What do you guys think?  Who are some free agents you believe the Vikings should go after???

Obviously, they should resign Brett Favre. He’s our only hope at turning this Viking ship around. Brett 4 Life!!!!
