Rumor: McNabb To Vikings For Two 6th Round picks + Ponder Reaction

July 27, 2011 by Nick in FREE AGENTS

Everything is pointing to Donovan McNabb becoming a Vikings today.  The rumored compensation is that the Vikings will give Washington a 6th round pick and a compensatory 6th round pick depending on McNabb’s performance.   The only issue is McNabb and his agent re-working his existing contract.  The Vikings are not willing to take on his 14+ million dollar contract.   Rumor has it that the Vikings are looking to spend no more then 7 million one a one year deal.

Christian Ponder has chimed in on this trade by stating:

“Excited to have McNabb join. Will learn a lot from a Pro Bowler. But that doesn’t mean I’m not still fighting to start week 1!”

Ponder is definitely taking a good attitude towards this situation.  Best case scenario Ponder gets to learn from a Pro Bowler and ‘worse’ case scenario he is starting mid season.
