Sidney Rice Leaves Minnesota, Chooses Seahawks and 41 Million Dollar Deal.

July 27, 2011 by Nick in FREE AGENTS

Sidney Rice is gone… I think all Vikings fans realized that this was a possibility but hoped it wouldn’t become a reality.  The Seattle Seahawks were able to lure Rice away from the purple by offering a contract worth $41 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed.  The deal also includes $3 million in escalators tied to Pro Bowl berths.

In Seattle, Rice will join QB Tarvaris Jackson and offensive coordinator Darell Bevell.   He will also be apart of the new wide receiver corps consisting of Rice himself, Golden Tate and Mike Williams.

While its extremely aggravating and upsetting that he left the Vikes we hope for Rice to continue his success.  Of course, thats when he isn’t playing the Vikings.

One of the most overrated players in vikings history. Good luck catching anything from J-Jack.
