Offensive Lineman Scott Kooistra Signed By Minnesota Vikings

August 2, 2011 by Nick in FREE AGENTS

A little Vikings news almost slid past us the other day.  In the midst of the Vikings improving the offensive line by signing Charlie Johnson they have also signed offensive lineman Scott Kooistra.  Kooistra, 30, has played in 84 career games with Cincinnati (2003 to ’09) and Baltimore (2010), starting one.  It looks like he may be good insurance and depth to an o-line that truly is one or two injuries away from falling apart.

With the Vikings already having issues with Bryant McKinnie and Herrera still coming back from a torn ACL they can use all the depth that they can take.

The vikings line has to be better this year for us to have any hope of improving from last season.

It was painful to watch last season. Don’t know much about this guy, hope he’s got some talent.

Bill I agree with you. Unfortunately with the Vikings cutting Bryant McKinnie I worry about the depth we have.
