Just in case you needed another reason to rank Adrian Peterson above Chris Johnson and every other running back in the NFL A.P. has told reporters he never thought about holding out this season. Despite the fact that Peterson is in his final year of his rookie contract he is dedicated to bringing home a championship. Adrian Peterson says:
“I’m pretty much in a good position right now, kinda in the driver’s seat,” Peterson told 105.3 FM 105.3 FM in Dallas on Wednesday. “So I just decided that this is my last year of my contract and I’ll stay faithful to it. I’ll just go out and focus on doing what I can do to help this team win a championship.”
When asked about the Chris Johnson scenario he replied with:
“I’m really not following too much. To be honest, I wish him the best. I hope he gets as much as possible. I don’t feel like whatever he brings in will affect my contract at all.”
Adrian Peterson continues to be a franchise player for the Vikings, a role model to young football fans and in general a genuine guy. A lot more players need to emulate Peterson. Despite trade rumors, look for the Vikings to reward Peterson with a new contract this season.
