Adrian Peterson continues his search for a new contract from the Minnesota Vikings this season. While im sure he’s eager to reach a deal he continues to say and do the right things when being questioned. In the last round of questions regarding Chris Johnson’s newly sign contract and if it sets a precedence for APs new contract:
“I don’t look at it like that. I look at his contract and the things that they have put together for him and I look at whatever I need to get done for me. It’s going to be my own separate deal so I don’t think it has anything to do with his.”
As reported before, Adrian Peterson is not concerned with his contract situation. He’s in the driver seat and he will be well paid regardless of his contract situation. Holding out wasn’t an issue nor did A.P. give it consideration. Peterson is due to make over $10 million dollars this season so he can definitely afford to not stress out about hits current contract situation.
A lot of rumors have been spreading about the contract situation. Everything from trading Peterson while he’s on the top of his game, slapping him with the franchise tag for next season or simply making him the wealthiest running back in the National Football League. A lot of options and very little time before the regular football season starts. I fully expect a long term deal to be reached with linebacker Chad Greenway before a new contract is finalized with Adrian Peterson.
