Vikings Make 7 Cuts Friday. Jaymar Johnson & Stylez White Included.

September 3, 2011 by Nick in PLAYER NEWS

The ugly part of training camp has arrived.  Cutting down to the 53 man roster for opening day.  The Vikings are wasting very little time making their cuts.  Friday afternoon it was made public that the Vikings had let 7 players know that their services wouldn’t be needed this season.  The players include:

Wide Reciever Jaymar Johnson

defensive end Stylez White

defensive end David Akinniyi,

guard Byron Isom,

cornerback Devon Torrence,

safety Ryan Hill

running back Tristan Davis

A lot of these players were undrafted free agents to its not surprise that they were cut early.  Jaymar Johnson and Stylez White are the two bigger names of the group.  A lot of hope went into Jaymar Johnson, especially after he spent the off season working out with Fitzgerald and company.  Stylez White (A former Gopher) was a roster casualty due to his age.  A 32 year old DE realistically doesn’t have much left in the tank.  It’s gotta be hard for the Vikings to keep him over a potential player that’s younger in age.
