Chris Cook Arrested: Won’t Play Sunday Against Packers.

October 22, 2011 by Nick in PLAYER NEWS

Tom Pelissero confirmed via Twitter that Chris Cook was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of domestic assault.  To make things even worse its also been reported that Cook will not be released before a court hearing scheduled for Monday morning.   This means he will miss the big game against the Packers this Sunday.

This is horrible news for a Vikings secondary that is already below par.  Antoine Winfield is doubtful this weekend leaving Cook as his starting replacement.   With both Winfield and Cook out for Sundays game we should see a lot more of Asher Allen.

The Packers have one of the best (if not the best) wide receiver corps in the NFL.  Chris Cook getting in trouble and Winfield being hurt is like shooting yourself not once, but twice in the legs.   It could be an ugly game if the Packers come out passing which they surely anticipate doing.
