Vikings Punt Away The Game Against Packers 27-33

October 24, 2011 by Nick in After the Game

I can’t even begin to share with you both my frustration and excitement that I had with this game.  Christian Ponder making his debut was everything a Vikings fan could of asked for.  He made some really good throws, read the defense and nearly pulled off a victory against the Packers.

On the other hand the offensive line is still atrocious, the coaching is continuing to KILL this team and Ponder at times seemed to eager to run with the ball.   In the end I am very pleased with the outing this team had against the Packers.  Unfortunately we lost.  Had we not punted at the end of the game would it have been different?

I don’t know what Frazier was thinking giving the ball back to arguably one of the best offenses in the NFL.  Then on top of that the Vikings can’t stop consecutive run plays in which they knew the only choice the Packers had was to run the ball and kill time.   What was the coaching staff thinking?  With 3 time outs why not go for it on 4th down!?  If they didn’t convert you use the time outs and hopefully get the ball back.  So frustrating.  The good news is the Ponder looked good which is extremely satisfying given that not much this season has gone as planned.   SKOL VIKES.
