In a game that seemed a lot closer then it probably was the Vikings dropped their ninth game of the season to the Atlanta Falcons 24-14. In what seemed like a comeback drive the Vikings were stopped on 4th and 1 from the Vikings one yard line. Leslie Frazier took the blame on the call saying “”I told the players that’s more on me,” Frazier said, adding, “I let my emotions get the best of me.”
The Vikings had some bright moments including a 103 yard kick return which had Percy Harvin tackled at the 3 yard line. Gerhart scored his first touchdown of the season and Ponder threw a great touchdown pass to a open Percy Harvin.
When Christian Ponder was asked about the teams 9th loss of the season he responded: “”Another loss and now we are 2-9. It doesn’t feel good. It’s getting repetitive, but I have to say that I am proud of the team. They played for four quarters. … We are going to improve. We’ve got guys doing everything possible to win games.”
This game was a lot closer then it looks on paper and several positives can be taken away. With the Vikings out of playoff contention if we can take away ‘positives’ from the rest of the games then we can generate some excitement for next season.
