Vikings Place 4 Players On Injured Reserve

November 30, 2011 by Nick in Player Injury Reports

The Minnesota Vikings added four players to the injured reserve this week.  Receiver Michael Jenkins, safety Tyrell Johnson, safety Husain Abdullah, and long snapper Cullen Loeffler.  To replace these players the Vikings have signed the following players to the active roster: Safety Andrew Sendejo, receiver Stephen Burton, and long snapper Matt Katula.

Cullen Loeffler was injured in last weeks loss to Atlanta and is rumored to be out 3 or more weeks so the decision to bring in another long snapper is obvious.  The Vikings simply can’t have back up long snapper Jared Allen on the field as much as he was last week.  In contention for breaking the NFL’s sack record the last thing Jared Allen needs is to get injured.
