Jared Allen The Only Viking To Make Pro Bowl

December 28, 2011 by Nick in player awards

It shouldn’t be too surprising to Vikings fans that we didn’t send half a dozen players to the Pro-Bowl this season.  We did however send one of our very few bright spots to Hawaii in Jared Allen.  Allen has had a fantastic season with over 18+ sacks.  It’s unlikely that he will break the sack record in the season finale this coming Sunday but you have to wonder if the rest of the defense had stepped up if it would have happened.

I personally was shocked to see that Matt Forte made the Pro-Bowl but our very own Adrian Peterson did not.  Granted he was dealing with injuries this season including a season ending ACL injury last week but Forte has been injured and placed on IR as well.  I guess it just shows how poorly this entire team has played this season for the voters to completely overlook the best running back in the NFL.
